United Pork Americas to Bring the World Together for the Future of Pork

Lenexa, Kan., (Oct. 6, 2021)United Pork Americas will be an unprecedented pork industry event, set for April 19-21, 2022, in Orlando, Fla., bringing together producers, veterinarians, nutritionists, researchers and other pork industry stakeholders. The education-focused event will provide an opportunity to examine the future of pork production and will feature internationally renowned speakers, global networking opportunities and new technologies to better understand the opportunities and challenges of global pork production.

Acquired by Farm Journal in 2021 from Flávia Roppa of Brazil, United Pork Americas will establish a new tone for the future of pork production while capitalizing on Roppa’s more than 20-year history hosting global pork conferences.

“2020 and 2021 were years that demanded a lot from the food production industry,” said Roppa, president of United Pork Americas. “The time has come for a new perspective toward the opportunities within the pork production system. United Pork Americas will identify and present the challenges and opportunities within pork production and protein availability to produce the highest quality, efficacious and abundant food source for the world.”

United Pork Americas will feature educational sessions and discussions on themes that will continue to transform the international protein market. Topics will include climate change, big data, logistics, food safety, health crises, consumer requirements, sustainability, alternative and artificial proteins, commodities, animal welfare and much more.

The event will feature 28,000 sq. ft. of exhibition space with leading technology suppliers in pork production. The International Pork Festival will offer networking with thousands of attendees and pork dishes from all over the world in a fun and energetic environment.

“We are excited about this new event,” said Cliff Becker, senior vice president of Livestock for Farm Journal. “With our combined efforts, we will increase the success of the swine industry in a larger, more competitive global environment. United Pork Americas promises to be a world-class event in every way with specialists from all over the globe debating different issues within every segment of the pork production system.”
