Lenexa, Kan., (June 18, 2020) — Farm Journal announced today that it is employing its social media phenomenon, #FarmON™, to unite its recently announced and precedent-setting Farm Journal Field Days™ virtual and on-farm events with its nationally acclaimed 28th Pro Farmer Crop Tour™, creating the most vibrant 11 days in American agricultural event history. This All-American experience links live in-the-field activities to a vast national audience online and will run from August 17-27, culminating with a #FarmON Benefit Concert with proceeds going to support National 4-H Council youth programs.

“We are creating the new template for how events are going to work in ag moving forward, and this will be a lot more exciting, inclusive and educational than what has come before,” said Andy Weber, CEO of Farm Journal. “The New American Farm Show™ will be a celebration of learning and entertainment for American farmers, ranchers, growers and marketers in the face of COVID-19 and for years to come.”

The 2020 Pro Farmer Crop Tour, set for August 17-21, kicks off the series of events with crop scouts walking fields from Ohio to South Dakota to collect valuable yield-predicting data for the 2020 corn and soybean crops. Building on 27 years of momentum, Crop Tour captures widespread attention of farmers and national mainstream media and delivers key data on crop yields across the Midwest that is of real interest to  farmers, marketers, commodity buyers and all of agriculture. Each night of the tour, a virtual event will feature straight-from-the-field insights and analysis during the week leading up to the next segment of The New American Farm Show experience.

From August 25-27, Farm Journal Field Days will take over the eyes and ears of the ag industry. Anchored by live demonstrations on farms in Jesup, Iowa, (August 25) and Bryan, Ohio, (August 27), farmers, ranchers and growers across America will join in a personalized experience on virtual platforms, have the opportunity to interact with speakers and learn more from input and service providers about products and technologies that can bring greater profitability to their operations.

The grand finale of these events is the #FarmON Benefit Concert featuring performances by country music artists with a heart for agriculture’s youth and their involvement in agriculture. This free virtual concert will air Thursday, August 27, at 7 pm CDT as a thank you to everyone in agriculture for their commitment to keeping America’s food supply moving forward. Proceeds from the concert will go to the National 4-H Council with their youth membership playing a large role in the concert.

Extended content and engagement with online audiences continue throughout the year as will the massive #FarmON social media platform phenomenon that in just three months has delivered massive reach of more than 50 million with nearly 200,000 direct engagements.

“We fully support agriculture in its critical mission to #FarmON in a world that is changing while we all change with it,” said Charlene Finck, president of Farm Journal. “The New American Farm Show Experience provides a blend of education, new product introductions, networking and entertainment that serves today’s producers and their industry suppliers in a manner never seen before in agriculture. The model fits today’s COVID-19 world as well as the high ROI expectations of the decades ahead.”
