Visual Communications Manager, Trust In Food

The Visual Communications Manager for Trust In Food™ will lead visual communications strategy and execution for corporate branding and marketing and develop materials for print and digital platforms for our national programs that communicate to farmers. This position dual reports to Trust In Food’s Director of Climate-Smart Content and a leader of Farm Journal’s award-winning editorial team.

Trust In Food is the social-purpose division of Farm Journal. We work to help farmers understand, value and feel capable of implementing conservation agriculture at scale by using best-in-class data insights to inform communication strategy, messaging and delivery to reach producers wherever they are on their journey.

This position will join a unique group of behavioral science, sustainable agriculture, and strategic communications experts who are revolutionizing how producers connect with the products, practices and services they need to become more resilient and sustainable.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
The successful applicant will show the ability to:

  • Collaborate with communications team to develop a unique and cohesive visual identity that reflects the company’s core values, mission, and program goals
  • Design and refine logos, icons, typography, and other visual elements that represent the company’s brand image, ensuring they resonate with producers and reinforce our mission
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive brand guidelines that outline logo usage, color schemes, typography, imagery style, and other design elements to ensure consistent branding across all platforms
  • Design a range of marketing materials, including brochures, banners, presentations, and digital assets, to support our promotional efforts and effectively convey our brand message
  • Produce visually compelling graphics for our website, social media platforms, email campaigns, and online advertising that drive producer engagement and partner enhancement
  • Contribute to the development of creative strategies that align with marketing and business objectives, leveraging your design expertise to communicate the brand’s sustainable agriculture initiatives effectively
  • Develop and execute on event marketing strategies and materials for distribution
  • Some travel to farm locations, industry events and client meetings for content creation and coverage

Desired Skills/Experience

  • Demonstrate a proven track record of creating innovative, helpful and highly engaging resources and programming for farmers and ranchers
  • 5-8 years of experience in graphic design, visual communications or related field with proven track record of managing media creation from discovery to finished product
  • Willingness and ability to work outside of core design role to complete tasks as needed, such as write marketing copy and help manage farmer field days and other events
  • Creative and entrepreneurial talent with a strong sense of judgment and proficiency to develop, see and execute on strategic priorities, with attention to achieving mission-driven performance metrics and impact goals
  • Excellent client-facing and farmer-facing presentation and collaboration skills
  • Excellent project management skills required
  • Understanding of conservation agriculture required
