Vice President, Marketing

The Vice President, Marketing at Farm Journal is a key role that leads a high-energy marketing team and partners with key stakeholders in the company to lead brand marketing efforts, establish strategic outreaches that broaden our visibility and thought leadership in the agriculture, food and sustainability sectors. Innovative public relations outreach with a variety of professionals within and outside of agriculture is a pivotal pillar of the role. The marketing leader will help set and achieve specific business unit targets that play key roles in differentiating Farm Journal and establishing it as the go-to source for insights, data and perspectives valuable to mainstream media, policy makers and company leaders.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and execute public relation strategy that differentiates Farm Journal, elevates brand and thought leadership visibility.
  • Lead public relations efforts, establishing strong inroads into mainstream media to share/leverage Farm Journal insights and knowledge from all divisions of the company.
  • Analyze existing branding and marketing strategies and provide improvement action plan that includes all types of relevant media and outreach.
  • Conduct market research and implement new strategies based on findings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Manage marketing team of four full-time staff members.
  • Recruit and manage freelancers as needed.
  • Execute public relations strategy.
  • Establish relationships with mainstream media.
  • Provide weekly updates of achievements.

SKILLS/PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of marketing experience that includes strategic planning, plan execution and managing creative teams.
  • Ability to create strong relationships and communicate effectively both within and outside agriculture and food ecosystems.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of activity to produce results in a team environment.
  • Agriculture knowledge preferred.
