Vice President, Enterprise Data Solutions

The Vice President, Enterprise Data Solutions is responsible for revenue growth and development for Farm Journal’s data services business. Farm Journal Data Solutions is engaged in selling a variety of data products and services to agribusinesses, as well as consumer-focused marketers wanting to reach America’s farm decision-makers. Farm Journal licenses data from the Farm Journal massive database on an ongoing subscription business. Farm Journal Database contains millions of business-related information on active commercial farmers, ranchers, retailers in the U.S. We are consistently recognized as the finest behavioral database available of agricultural decisions makers. In addition, Farm Journal Data Solutions is actively engaged in providing a wide range of AI powered data management services driven by our next generation predictive platform. Farm Journal Data Solutions also provides data-related fulfillment services (e.g., inbound customer service, lead conversion, data harmonization, response fulfillment, managing dealer network, etc.), as well as building systems for clients to better manage their customer data.

Farm Journal Data Solutions is a multi-million platform prioritized as one of the company’s key growth opportunities. Farm Journal Data Solutions has experienced rapid-growth without a high-level, proactive sales and development effort.

This individual will manage and close existing and new accounts. You will work closely with Senior Vice President, Enterprise Solutions and the Farm Journal Leadership team to drive sales efforts with key, existing Farm Journal clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
These duties include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 Primary responsibilities:

  • Data licensing revenue
  • Data management revenue
  • Data systems revenue
  • List rental revenue
  • Enhance overall Farm Journal revenue through cross-product use of data

Essential Duties:

  • Manage sales account manager
  • New customer development
  • Manage existing client relationships and identify cross-sell opportunities
  • Work with SVP to develop new data products
  • Work with Manager Client Services to develop Farm Journal Data Solutions promotional materials, website and presentations
  • Write proposals
  • Close business
  • Provide weekly updates of prospects and revenue opportunities
  • Write annual client sales plan for both existing client growth, as well as prospect sales
  • Work with Farm Journal Leadership Team to determine annual sales goals and budgeting appropriate expenses

Skills/Professional Experience
These qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Proven closing skills
  • Previous experience with data-driven sales and/or marketing
  • Agricultural/Agri-marketing background a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to increase sales to existing clients through upselling
  • Track record in new product development and implementation
  • Demonstrated presentation and writing skills
  • Self-starter focused on selling
  • Ability to travel (40%-50%)
