Senior Market Research Manager

The Senior Market Research Manager is a part of a dynamic team of data scientists, market researchers, and analysts providing insights to major suppliers in the agricultural industry.

This person will be a key member of the Farm Journal Market Research & Insights team, who demonstrates the ability to harness and translate strategic insights into actionable recommendations and communications, with guidance from the VP of Market Research & Insights.

The ideal candidate will be a marketing research expert, with demonstrated customer research skills across both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, proven hands-on experience as practitioner, a hunger to drive product/brand outcomes, and an interest to remain deeply engaged in the execution of work.

Strong time management and communication skills are critical. Candidates must be comfortable and effective working with remote teams, with a wide range of internal partners: marketing, product, communications, public policy, and user experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
These duties include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Lead internal stakeholder and client conversations and designing new research projects with appropriate methodology, scope and costing.
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify patterns and solutions, including surveys and qualitative data
  • Synthesize complex data into insights through comprehensive analyses, providing practical, business-oriented, and actionable insights
  • Refine insights to shape a compelling narrative with clear and concise storytelling, and actionable recommendations through impactful deliverables and effective presentations / reporting.
  • Provides thoughtful analysis, interpretation and reporting on market research projects and ensure timely socialization of findings to all key stakeholders to support improvements in business- or sector-related strategies.
  • Possess exceptional attention to detail, organizational and time management skills, including balancing multiple priorities.
  • Consistently demonstrate the ability to balance both the micro (project details) and macro (understanding how all aspects of the engagement are interrelated, and how they ladder up to client objectives).

Skills/Professional Experience
These qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a marketing research or related quantitative discipline (e.g., mathematics, statistics, marketing, or communications)
  • 4-7 years of market research experience, ideally on the market research supplier side
  • Well-versed and experienced in designing and conducting a broad array of quantitative and qualitative market research approaches
  • Expertise with research development and analytical tools (Qualtrics & SPSS specifically)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Meaningfully contribute to team/client meetings and presentations.
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Advanced proficiency with Windows-based office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
  • Primary quantitative research experience in support of brand and marketing decision making a plus, but not required
  • Agriculture industry experience preferred, but not required
