General Manager, Machinery Pete Auctions

MachineryPete.com is looking for a General Manager to lead our Machinery Pete Auctions business. Machinery Pete Auctions, a joint venture between Machinery Pete and Big Iron,  is a new and easy way for equipment dealers and auction companies to sell used farm equipment via online auction. Machinery Pete Auctions hosts monthly online NO RESERVE, NO BUYER’s fee auctions the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Our mission is to connect buyers and sellers and maximize auction sale prices.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives to achieve sales revenue targets for our auction business
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators
  • Build relationships with auction companies focused on selling farm equipment
  • Individual will sell, hire, train, and coach self-motivated territory managers and inside sales team to target auction companies
  • Build Machinery Pete Auctions brand awareness through consultative relationships with auction companies and equipment dealers
  • Work closely with product, marketing, and dealership sales team to optimize performance related to Machinery Pete Auctions
  • Manage the budget and monitor the financial health of the business

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 10 + years of sales experience with equipment dealers and/or auction companies
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to speak with C-level clients
  • Experience and established relationships within the dealership and auction industry contacts
  • Experience building longstanding, consultative client relationships
  • Strong quantitative skills and negotiation’s ability
  • Proven track record of building sales teams and exceeding revenue expectations
  • Experience entering new markets, and building business from the ground up preferred
  • Experience managing budget
  • Frequent travel required
