Digital Ad Operations Email Specialist

The Digital Ad Operations Email Specialist will be responsible for management of email production for Farm Journal’s outside and internal clients and work to develop efficiencies in processes. This position reports to the Senior Director of Digital Ad Operations and works closely with the Digital Operations and Audience Development teams to provide services to a broad range of clients, both internal and external, in the deployment of various email campaigns including creation, testing, execution, quality control and reporting.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated and has a quick-thinking analytical mind. The candidate must be able to adapt to various digital platforms, manage a sizable amount of inbound communication with speed and precision, and demonstrate a proven track record of satisfying the customer.

In addition, the Digital Ad Operations Email Specialist will contribute to overall Farm Journal digital thought leadership and an industry leading digital operations team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
These duties include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage, create and deploy campaigns, including subscriber data, import and segmentation, on behalf of Farm Journal Marketing clients.
  • Assist in scheduling deployments within Marketo including setting up automated reports and KPI reports to Digital Operations and client teams.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews and other activities to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of email deployments.
  • Ability to set up and run queries for counts or lists in the Marketo database and to import lists into specific campaigns.
  • Set up and deploy emails for all Farm Journal and Pro Farmer digital products and provide reports.
  • Work closely with Senior Director of Digital Ad Operations to ensure all processes are being followed and find efficiencies as applicable.
  • Work closely with Digital Operations teams to review deliverability results for Farm Journal’s clients; collaborate on actions taken or recommendations for email program modifications.

Required:

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Management Information Systems, Communications or related field; or equivalent experience with demonstrated proficiency required.
  • Experience working with Marketo or other email software and related technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of email marketing, including CANSPAM Laws and best practices for email design (Subject lines, Layout, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of HTML / CSS fundamentals, with the ability to make recommendations on responsive design coding and conduct quality assurance testing as needed.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and client deadlines with minimal oversight.
  • Strong written, verbal communication and problem-solving skills with an impeccable eye for detail.

Desired:

  • Prior work with digital platforms such as Marketo; Naviga.
  • Microsoft Excel skills: Pivot tables, vlookups and other functions.
  • Dreamweaver and Photoshop knowledge a plus
