The Digital Campaign Insights Director will provide ad campaign reporting, analysis, and insights that articulate the value provided by Farm Journal to its advertising clients. They will work closely with ad operations, engineering, audience, sales operations, customer success, digital product and systems teams to develop holistic campaign reporting for external customers (Farm Journal advertising clients). This person will be an expert in data engineering, data visualization, and digital advertising performance measurements, and will own the implementation and maintenance of internal reporting systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
These duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Work alongside ad operations, customer success, sales, engineering, audience, digital product and systems teams to deliver cross-channel, holistic campaign reporting for external and internal customers.
- Serve as campaign reporting systems owner, managing, maintaining, and continuously improving campaign reporting systems to ensure Farm Journal remains competitive with the ad campaign analytics and insights provided to customers.
- Provide timely and relevant ad campaign reports, dashboards, and analysis to internal and external customers.
- Establish and maintain campaign performance benchmarks on which to assess overall ad product performance and individual campaign performance.
- Bring ad campaign performance metrics to life using data visualization and data storytelling, leading to compelling campaign insights and recommendations.
- Streamline reporting processes, automate data collection, and optimize campaign reporting workflows, across multiple systems, data feeds, and departments.
- Ensure data accuracy and reliability through data governance practices, standardized reporting processes, and data validation techniques, resulting in reduced campaign reporting errors and improved data quality.
- Track and monitor critical ad performance metrics and targets, providing a clear picture of progress towards client campaign goals.
- Leverage advanced analytics techniques to uncover patterns, trends, and correlations within the data to provide deeper insights into customer behavior and market trends. This information will be used to drive innovation, identify potential new business opportunities, and optimize strategies.
Skills/Professional Experience
These qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following:
- 4-year degree in data engineering, marketing, or comparable discipline
- 10+ years of experience in digital media, with at least 3 years working in campaign performance data
- Knowledge of the cross-channel and cross-platform marketing and media landscape and experience evolving analytics and measurement capabilities
- Track record of using data and insights to drive change and implement new initiatives
- Experience using data visualization to convey program or campaign performance
- Experience with ad campaigns on endemic (on-site), DSPs and social platforms
- Working knowledge of Tableau, TapCliks or Domo is preferred. Product management mindset
- Intellectual curiosity, flexibility, and high attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, ability to clearly articulate insights to a wide range of audiences.
