Audience Development Specialist

The Audience Development Specialist will work with our Audience Development Team to help develop, suggest and execute direct response marketing strategy across products within the brands for 10 print magazines, and digital editions. Also requires enhancement to the subscriber database by increasing demographic data. This position will market to our audience for subscriptions and digital products as well as manage the tracking of campaigns for continual improvement.      

  • Coordination with the Circulation and Production Staff in preparing the Print Orders and AMM publisher statements for all assigned publications
  • Work with AAM to provide material and information to complete audit
  • Develop marketing campaigns and publisher’s commitment forms including budgets to make goals
  • Work with Webster City staff, AD staff and outside vendors for all marketing/requalification campaigns
  • Prepare marketing plans and budgets to reach and maintain publishers’ goals
  • Work with the fulfillment staff to close issues and maintain circulation files for publishers’ stated goals
  • Manage circulation files as to the specification of the publishers and for USPS regulations
  • Prepare and maintaining accurate circulation marketing reports, competitive comparison analysis, and subscription sales analysis including ROI   
  • Prepare and submit Statements of Ownership to the USPS
  • Analyze and monitor data and reporting on all subscriber databases  
  • Identify errors and follow through to ensure corrections are made to the database/reports to accurately reflect subscribers and their demographic information
  • Develop new online strategies for requalification campaigns
  • Develop yearly circulation goals, promotion plans and budgets in coordination with publishers
  • Develop, initiate and report on all marketing campaigns – direct mail, email, telephone

Qualified candidates should possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.
  • Experience in the publishing field with a background in audience development/circulation management
  • Strong marketing knowledge and analytical ability
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Strong aptitude for figures 
  • Excellent collaboration skills, the ability to work with all disciplines within the organization 
  • Demonstrate customer service excellence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
