Farm Journal’s Trust In Food™ Announces Valent as New Partner in America’s Conservation Ag Movement

Lenexa, Kan., (Jan. 14, 2020) — Farm Journal’s Trust In Food initiative announced the addition of Valent U.S.A. LLC as a Foundational Partner in America’s Conservation Ag Movement. The broad national effort helps farmers, ranchers and growers continue their journey to conserve our shared natural resources and promote sustainable food production. The coalition is a unique partnership among Farm Journal’s Trust In Food initiative, the Farm Journal Foundation and leading agribusinesses, farmer associations, conservation-focused nonprofits and food companies. This national education and engagement program is designed to more rapidly scale the adoption, documentation and beneficial outcomes of conservation agriculture and amplify, accelerate and give voice to the many conservation agriculture programs and activities underway across the nation in service to America’s farmers.

“More than ever, consumers are educating themselves on sustainability and want to know where their food comes from,” said David Nothmann, Vice President Marketing at Valent U.S.A. “Valent has held a long-standing commitment to sustainability, and our science-based product pipeline development process is designed to advance sustainable agriculture and contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. We’re excited to partner with America’s Conservation Ag Movement to tell the story of food, and how growers are working to advance sustainable agriculture, protect the environment and benefit society at large.”

“We’re excited to welcome Valent as America’s Conservation Ag Movement’s latest Foundational Partner,” said Mitch Rouda, President of Trust In Food. “They join a wide range of other visionary organizations driving conservation in agriculture, including American Farmland Trust, Corteva Agriscience, Ducks Unlimited, National Corn Growers Association, National Pork Board, Sanderson Farms, Syngenta and The Nature Conservancy.”

Building on the momentum of the coalition, Farm Journal published its first-ever annual report from America’s Conservation Ag Movement at the end of 2019, reaching an audience of more than 1 million stakeholders with print and digital editions across the value chain. Partnerships with WATT Global Media and
Agri-Pulse will expand the report’s distribution to poultry and feed sectors, in
addition to policymakers and other influencers, respectively.

In 2020, America’s Conservation Ag Movement will produce hundreds of print pages, TV spots and radio segments featuring conservation news coverage. The program also includes the development of critical how-to materials and workbooks, and the development of peer-to-peer sharing networks in critical watersheds.
