Farm Journal Staff Promotions Position Company for Future Growth
Lenexa, Kan. (Feb. 9, 2023) — Farm Journal, the nation’s leading media company serving agriculture audiences, announces the promotion of several employees to lead the company into a new phase of service and growth.

Dustin Johansen has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Livestock. Since joining Farm Journal in February 2021, Johansen has taken increasing roles of responsibility and now leads the company’s livestock division. He grew up on a registered beef cattle operation in central Missouri and gained relevant experience at Caterpillar and Osborn Barr before joining Farm Journal.
Tyler Smith has been promoted to Vice President, Crops Sales. Smith’s role has continued to expand since he joined Farm Journal in April 2020. As an incredibly successful sales leader, he leads the company’s national crops sales and business development efforts.
Ben Gist has been promoted to Vice President, Enterprise Data & Insights. In this expanded role, Gist adds Market Research and Content Hub services to his charge, aligning all Enterprise Data and Market Insights services Farm Journal offers to the industry. He joined Farm Journal in May 2022.
Rebecca Bartels has been promoted to Vice President, Strategic Partnerships for Farm Journal’s Trust In Food initiative. Bartels has been a revenue leader around sustainability solutions since joining the company in January 2021. In this new role, she will lead the TIF business development team working across government, consumer brands, academia, ag tech, carbon, and emerging technologies markets and solutions.
Jennifer Perkins has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Human Resources & Talent Development. Perkins joined Farm Journal in April 2016 and has brought expertise and professionalism to the company’s strategic planning, organizational development and talent planning and recruitment efforts.
